With Harvest done and gone at Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards, we finally are able to take a breather and look around at our beautiful changing vineyards.
Harvest 2013 was a bountiful one, not only for us, but also for majority of wineries in Northern California due to the very mild weather during the growing season. This weather allowed for us to kick off our annual Hands on Harvest event in September.
Hands on Harvest started as a way to have members of the trade and media out to our winery in Sonoma Carneros during the harvest season. As the name suggests, attendees are able to learn how to properly choose and pick grapes off the vines, learn about our extensive Clonal Pinot Noir program at the winery, observe grafting techniques and of course taste some of our famous bubbles in various stages of the winemaking process.
Due to the mild weather, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect for our attendees, as they were able to witness first hand our very own vineyard crew moving at a gazelle’s pace up and down the vineyards as they brought in bright looking Pinot Noir berries.
Along with the great experience, the attendees actually will receive a case of their custom wine blend within 24 months of their visit. Custom labels and blend of Pinot Noir make the event a lasting memory for years to come.
