"You'll know you're on vacation when you find yourself sitting on a deck overlooking Carneros, relaxing with a glass of Gloria Ferrer bubbly in your hand. Before you do that, however, check out the $10 guided tour and tasting that takes you behind the scenes, giving you the winery's history, an instructive look at sparkling-wine production and a peek into Gloria Ferrer's vast caves."

Gloria Ferrer Still Wines

In 1991, inspired by the quality and character of our estate fruit, we began crafting still wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In subsequent years, our winegrowing team meticulously matched dozens of clones to the diverse growing conditions in our estate vineyards with their sights on the highest quality grapes with more intense flavors and characteristics.
We have become renowned for our Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We also released a limited-production Pinot Noir Rosé. In the late 1990s, we began to experiment with a cool-climate Merlot. The result has been elegant, limited-production wines with backbone and refreshing acidity.
Gloria Ferrer Reserve and Vineyard-Designate Wines

Over the years, we have experimented with more than 40 clones in nine distinct soil types on our 335 acres of estate vineyards, located at a range of elevations between 50 and 325 feet. This diversity of growing conditions presents a wealth of flavors, aromas and characteristics with which to craft our vineyard-designate wines and reserve blends.
Our Rust Rock Terrace Pinot Noir is made from select blocks in the uppermost hillside of our Circle Bar Ranch, where a volcanic ridgeline provides optimal growing conditions for the variety. Our Gravel Knob Vineyard Pinot Noir is made from exotically aromatic fruit grown in a rocky, windy southwest corner of the estate. Our most exceptional estate blocks are selected on a yearly basis for the José S. Ferrer Pinot Noir, a wine of delicious depth that reflects the rewards of careful cluster thinning and summer pruning.
