18th Annual Catalan Festival -2010 Tickets will be available for purchase in February July 24th and 25th, 2010 11:00AM to 4:00PMCelebrating 24 years of making world-class sparkling and still wines. The festival is all about good food, wine and fun, of course, with a Catalan accent.
Spain used to be a cluster of different kingdoms— Aragon and Catalonia, Valencia, Castilla—each with its own language, culture, heritage and royal family. Eventually, by marriage or conquest, it all became one country. In the northeast of Spain, Catalonia has kind of an urban, yet Mediterranean feel to it. A lot of artists and entrepreneurs come from there as opposed to other regions that are more agricultural. Barcelona, Catalonia's enchanted city, is often referred to as Paris with palm trees.
Whether you're coming for the first time or to relive happy memories, you'll find plenty to do at the festival.
Sample the cuisine of bay area restaurants and caterers including: Sabor of Spain, B-44 Catalan Bistro, Barlata, Jose Castenada El Toro Marketplace, Wild Thyme Catering, Thirsty Bear and The Java wagon, Vineyards Inn, Venga Paella.
