18th Annual Catalan Festival July 24th and 25th, 2010 11:00AM to 4:00PMCelebrating 24 years of making world-class sparkling and still wines. The Catalan Festival at Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards pairs the unique spirit of Catalonia with the world-class quality of California sparkling and still wines. A celebration of the winery’s Spanish roots and the opening of the winery in July 1986, the Catalan Festival is now in its 18th year.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to let your senses be enticed by the melodies of classical guitar, rhythms of flamenco dance, aromas of saffron and spice, and taste of world-class bubbly.
Spain used to be a cluster of different kingdoms— Aragon and Catalonia, Valencia, Castilla—each with its own language, culture, heritage and royal family. Eventually, by marriage or conquest, it all became one country. In the northeast of Spain, Catalonia has kind of an urban, yet Mediterranean feel to it. A lot of artists and entrepreneurs come from there as opposed to other regions that are more agricultural. Barcelona, Catalonia's enchanted city, is often referred to as Paris with palm trees.
Whether you're coming for the first time or to relive happy memories, you'll find plenty to do at the festival. Click here to watch a video of a previous Catalan Festival.
